LEICESTER CITY, England, CMC – Leicester City have pulled off a dramatic deadline-day coup, agreeing a deal to sign Chelsea forward Dujuan Richards for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
In a final flourish to a notoriously quiet January window, the Foxes have moved to bolster their attack by securing the highly-rated 20-year-old Jamaican international.
The move comes just in time, with the club reportedly finalising the loan switch ahead of the 7 pm deadline, potentially utilising a deal sheet to complete the formalities.
This last-gasp action provides a vital injection of talent for Leicester’s forward line, which was left depleted following the early termination of Julian Carranza’s loan from Feyenoord.
Richards, who joined Chelsea from the Phoenix Academy in 2024, arrives seeking regular first-team football despite being a fixture for the Jamaican national team, where he earned 14 caps and scored two goals.
He is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues. After missing a significant portion of 2024 and 2025 with a knee injury, he has been rebuilding his fitness and form with Chelsea’s Under-21 side this season, primarily operating on the right wing.
His anticipated arrival at the King Power Stadium sets up an intriguing battle for the right-wing berth, where he will provide direct competition for current starter Abdul Fatawu.
