MIAMI, United States, CMC – Guatemalan football club CSD Xelajú MC and one of its players have been disciplined by the Concacaf Disciplinary Committee following multiple incidents that occurred during the second leg match of the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup Final on December 3.
The club was fined an undisclosed amount for violations of competition security protocols and media and commercial regulations. At the same time, Jorge Aparicio was also fined and given a two-match suspension for making an inappropriate and offensive gesture during the Final’s awards ceremony.
Aparicio must serve his two-match suspension during upcoming editions of Concacaf Club Competitions in which he is eligible to participate.
In a statement issued on Monday, CONCACAF said the disciplinary action was taken following the completion of a thorough investigation.
Additionally, the Committee has ordered CSD Xelajú MC to return the 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup Fair Play Award, as Aparicio’s conduct was inconsistent with the principles of the award.
