Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored for Leicester to help them earn a draw against Brighton

LEICESTER, England, CMC – Jamaican international Bobby De Cordova-Reid netted his first campaign goal in stoppage time to help Leicester secure a stunning, come-from-behind 2-2 draw with Brighton on Sunday.

Brighton seemed well on their way to securing three points after goals from Tariq Lamptey and Yankuba Minteh had given them a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The visitors took the lead when Lamptey curled a beauty into the top corner past Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen in the 37th minute.

Brighton continued to build on their strong performance in the second half, and substitute Minteh’s superb run ended with him hammering home with his left foot in the 79th minute.

But Jaime Vardy pulled one back for Leicester in the 86th minute, latching on to James Justin’s deflected cross to slot across visiting keeper Bart Verbruggen.

The 31-year-old Cordova-Reid, who came on as a substitute, then grabbed a point for his side when he tapped home a late leveler in the first minute of stoppage time after Vardy rolled a perfect cross for him.

The result moved Leicester five points clear of the relegation zone.
