LONDON, CMC – Reggae Boy Jonson Clarke-Harris netted his first goal of the new League One season as Peterborough came from behind to hammer Barnsley 3-1 and maintain their winning start to the campaign.

The Golden Boot winner in League One last season with 26 goals, the 29-year-old struck in the 76th minute – one of three second-half goals in 12 minutes, which put the visitors out of sight at Oakwell Stadium in the north of England.

He ghosted through the center of the box unmarked to tap in Kwame Poku’s sweeping cross from close range, finishing off a swift counter-attacking following a misplaced pass out by goalkeeper Liam Roberts.

Hector Kyprianou struck his leveler in the 74th while Poku, a 22-year-old Ghanian international, grabbed the third for Peterborough – nicknamed the Posh – in the 85th.

Peterborough had trailed after 51 minutes through Barry Cotter’s strike.

The win was Peterborough’s third league win on the trot after beating Reading in their opener and edging Charlton last weekend.

Clarke-Harris was transfer-listed after Peterborough failed to gain promotion to the Championship but is still looking for a buyer.

In the National League, Grenada international Kairo Mitchell and Tyrese Sinclair – the son of former Reggae Boy Frank Sinclair – both got on target, but Rochdale squandered an early lead to crash to a 3-2 defeat at Woking.

The 22-year-old Sinclair, whose father Frank featured in the historic Jamaica side at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, put Rochdale ahead in the 15th minute at Kingfield Stadium in the southeast. Still, Scott Cuthbert (54th) and Reece Grego-Cox (74th, 82nd) netted second-half-goals to stage Woking’s recovery.

Mitchell, 25, who has been capped 15 times by Grenada, made the game nervy at the end for Woking when he pulled one back in the 84th for Rochdale.

Also in the southeast, St Lucia international Dominic Poleon found himself on the scoresheet as Ebbsfleet United trounced Aldershot Town 2-0 at Stonebridge Road.

Franklin Domi opened the scoring in the 31st minute to give Ebbsfleet the edge at half-time before the 29-year-old Poleon doubled his advantage in the 68th.

In the north, Guyana’s Callum Harriott struck just before half-time to give York a 2-1 lead against Altrincham, but the hosts conceded in the 65th through substitute Matty Kosylo and were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at home at York Community Stadium.

Dipo Akinyemi fired York ahead in the ninth minute before Chris Conn-Clarke leveled in the 37th minute, but Harriott regained the advantage for York with a low, left-footed finish from the edge of the area.

Kosylo, however, ensured a point for Altrincham, producing a far post tap in moments after coming off the bench.
