LONDON, CMC – Bromley FC announced on Thursday the signing of Grenada international Ashley Charles from fellow English National League outfit Wealdstone for an undisclosed fee.

During the campaign, the 24-year-old midfielder made 20 league appearances for the Stones this season and was featured in both fixtures at his new home, Hayes Lane.

Charles began his career at League Championship side Watford, in the second tier of English football, before gaining his first real taste of the senior game during a loan spell five years ago at National League outfit Barnet, in the fifth tier of English football.

The same year, his time at Watford he ended with Wealdstone proving his next destination.

During his time at Grosvenor Vale, which included a loan spell at Concord Rangers in the Isthmian League Premier Division, the seventh tier of English football, Charles featured 112 times in the National League, netting on two occasions.

The newest signing for the Ravens, as Bromley is known, was called up to the Grenada men’s national team, the Spice Boyz, for friendlies in June 2022 before making his debut in a 2-2 draw with El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Charles will wear the No. 4 jersey for Bromley, who are currently second in the National League, trailing leaders Chesterfield by 16 points. Still, they want to finish strong and qualify for the playoffs to seek promotion to League 2, the fourth tier of English club football.
