LONDON, CMC – In-form Antigua and Barbuda forward Rhys Browne salvaged a point for Woking with a second-half penalty as they forced a 2-2 draw against English fifth-tier National League outfit Wrexham in a title clash on Tuesday night.

Wrexham got off to the worst start at the Racecourse Ground when Montserrat midfielder Rohan Ince’s flicked header at the front post found team-mate Padraig Amond on the opposite side, and he could not miss his free header.

Anthony Forde’s free-kick brought Wrexham level before the break, but Paul Mullin’s penalty – after Ollie Palmer had been brought down – put the hosts ahead early in the second half.

However, 27-year-old Browne leveled for Woking to end Wrexham’s 100 percent home league record after James Daly had been fouled, calmly tucking away the spot-kick. He waited for goalkeeper Mark Howard to move before pushing the ball the other way with 72 minutes on the clock.

It was Browne’s 17th goal of the campaign – seven of them coming in 13 league games at rivals Wealdstone earlier in the season before he transferred to Woking in October for an undisclosed fee.

Tuesday’s result left Wrexham second, five points behind leaders Notts County, who beat Barnet 4-1, while Woking is third.

In League One, Reggae Boy Garath McCleary, who made 24 appearances for Jamaica between 2013 and 2016, sealed promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers’ 2-0 win at Accrington Stanley with a late goal.

Josh Scowen’s first-half strike at the Wham Stadium, coupled with 35-year-old winger McCleary’s goal, made it four successive wins for Wycombe – nicknamed the Chairboys – who are in seventh place.

The game had been on a knife-edge until the 90th minute when McCleary put the ball between goalkeeper Lukas Jensen’s legs for his sixth goal of the season.

Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Tyrese Sinclair, 22, whose father Frank played 28 times for the Reggae Boyz, pulled a goal back with a close-range header in 49 minutes for National League side Altrincham, where he is on loan from League Two side Rochdale.

However, the hosts went down 2-1 to Bromley at the J. Davidson Stadium.
