West Indies fined for slow over-rate in fourth T20I clash with Australia.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC – The West Indies cricket team has been penalised for maintaining a slow over-rate during their fourth T20 International against Australia at Warner Park on Saturday.

The players have been fined 10% of their match fees after falling two overs short of the required target, even after accounting for time allowances.

The sanction was imposed by match referee Reon King of the Emirates ICC International Panel.

Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, players are docked 5% of their match fee for each over their team fails to complete within the allotted time.

West Indies captain Shai Hope admitted the offence and accepted the penalty, avoiding the need for a formal hearing.

The charge was brought by on-field umpires Gregory Brathwaite and Leslie Reifer, third umpire Zahid Bassarath, and fourth umpire Deighton Buttler.

The hosts, despite the setback, will look to regroup as they prepare for the final match of the series on Monday. The regional side will be looking to avoid a 5-0 series whitewash.
