PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – An impressive display of fast bowling from seamer Shamar Joseph helped the West Indies dismiss South Africa for 160 in their first innings after they won the toss and decided to bat on the opening day of the second Test here at Providence Stadium on Thursday.
The West Indies’ bowling attack, led by Joseph, dismantled the South African batting lineup, with the Guyanese speedster claiming an impressive five wickets for 33 runs. Jayden Seales provided strong support with 3-45. The visitor’s total could have been a lot worse were it not for a 63-run 10th wicket stand between Dan Piedt, who top scored with 38 not out, and last man Nandre Burger who contributed 23, before he became the last wicket to fall to Gudakesh Motie.
