PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – The Barbados Pride will have the services of West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase when they face defending champions Trinidad & Tobago Red Force in the first semifinal of the Regional Super50 here on Wednesday.

Chase was previously unavailable, as he was part of the West Indies squad that played England in the just-concluded One Day International and T20I series, which ended on Sunday.

While Chase’s addition will be welcomed, Barbados will be without their captain, Kyle Mayers, and Kadeem Clarke, who have been granted leave to participate in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.

As a result, Shian Brathwaite has been added to the squad, while Raymon Reifer will serve as captain for the rest of the tournament.

“The national selection panel has confirmed that Roston Chase and Shian Brathwaite will join the Barbados Pride squad as replacement players for Kadeem Alleyne and Kyle Mayers, respectively,” the Barbados Cricket Association stated in a press release issued on Monday.

“Alleyne and Mayers were granted NOCs to participate in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 tournament scheduled from November 21 to December 3, 2024.

“Raymon Reifer has been appointed captain for the remainder of the CG United CWI Regional Super50 tournament that is being held in Trinidad & Tobago,” the release added.

The Pride hopes to exact revenge on the Red Force, who whipped them by nine wickets in their top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.
