Carty joins West Indies squad for final T20 vs Australia
Carty added for final T20 as Aussies target series sweep

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, CMC – Batsman Keacy Carty has been added to the West Indies squad for the fifth and final T20I against Australia, replacing the injured Evin Lewis, who has returned home.

The hosts will hope Carty’s inclusion can spark a turnaround as they look to avoid a series whitewash following Australia’s dominance throughout the series, which started in Jamaica.

Australia moved one step closer to a clean sweep after clinching a thrilling three-wicket victory in Saturday’s fourth T20I at Warner Park.

Despite a middle-order fightback that lifted the West Indies to 205-9 after an early collapse, the visitors chased down the target with four balls to spare, finishing on 206-7.

Glenn Maxwell’s explosive power-hitting and half-centuries from Josh Inglis and Cameron Green sealed the win, giving Australia an unassailable 4-0 lead in the five-match series.

The final game will be played on Monday at the same venue, with the West Indies aiming to salvage some pride ahead of their next series, which begins next week in Florida against Pakistan.
