Jacob Bethell topscored with 87 and grabbed two wickets for the Melbourne Renegades in a loss to the Hobart Hurricanes

HOBART, Australia, CMC – Barbadian Jacob Bethell blasted a half-century and took two wickets. However, when the Big Bash League continued on Tuesday, his Melbourne Renegades still lost by four wickets to the Hobart Hurricanes.

Bethell lashed 87 from 50 balls with four sixes and eight fours in the Renegades’ total of 154 for seven from their 20 overs.

He came to the crease with his side struggling at 23 for three in the fifth over, and together with Tim Seifert, who scored 24, and Will Sutherland (15), helped the Renegades recover.

Riley Meredith was the Hurricanes’ top bowler with 3-36.

Bethell then returned to grab 2-29 with his off-spin. However, the Hurricanes coasted to 155 for six off 19.4 overs to remain top of the table with 13 points from their eight games.

The Renegades, meanwhile, remain rooted at the bottom with just six points from their nine games.
