CARIBBEAN TIMES NEWS (New York) grew out of the need for an authentic and genuine Caribbean voice in New York City and state. It’s founding was also a direct reaction to and an acknowledgement of the changing times, and the need to embrace new and exciting information technologies to address the obvious news and information deficits in the Caribbean community. That journey began two years ago.
And yes, we’re still young and growing. But we recognize that in these times we have a duty to a new millennial generation that is demanding news and information that is both specific and germane to the community. This informational product must be packaged in a way that satisfies the online community, real time traditionalists, and be optimized and packaged or mobile “instant, on the go” technology.
With this in mind Caribbean Times News presumes to speak for and to the issues that specifically impact the large Caribbean immigrant communities in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. Our editorial vision is an informed trajectory platform to zero in on those issues and challenges that define the Caribbean Immigrant Experience in our city be they good, bad or indifferent.
We promise to always bring you the unvarnished truth and the facts. We will not compromise or renege on this pledge. Our Contract With the Community, our professionalism, and balanced reporting is what separates and differentiates us from other news sources and houses purporting to serve the Caribbean community.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of the Caribbean Diaspora for their unstinting and unwavering support. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the Business Community that has helped us grow and expand beyond our wildest dreams. We know that we can count on you in the coming months and years as we strive always to deliver a quality, professional, and a well-designed informational product that we can all be justly proud of and support.
The road ahead will be fraught with many challenges, obstacles, and opportunities. We’ll draw on the rich and unique backgrounds of our team that collectively represents over 100 years of combined experience in journalism, media strategy, advertising and is gifted with the ability to adapt and change as circumstances demand. And we’ll also tap into the creative talents found in the Caribbean immigrant community that is an invaluable reservoir of knowledge and expertise.
We’re proud of our accomplishments these past two years. It has not always been easy. But through it all we’ve learned, grown, and now far better off for the opportunity of these experiences, challenges and successes. This mixed bag of blessings is what motivates and inspires us to go forward with quiet confidence and determination in the future.
