BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Caribbean Community (CARICOM) leaders are expected to invite United States President Donald Trump to visit the Caribbean for discussions on US-Caribbean relations, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne said Friday.
Browne told reporters that the issue had been raised during the caucus meeting of CARICOM leaders and that the regional leaders had also indicated an intention to engage senior Trump administration officials as soon as possible.
Browne said that while no specific time frame had been set, the Caribbean leaders were anxious for the meeting given the change in American policies since Trump took office on January 20 this year.
