CCJ President Pays Official Visit to Barbados
The visit is in keeping with the CCJ’s Strategic Plan 2025–2032, which aims to strengthen engagement with national judiciaries and governments across the region. The initiative focuses on expanding access to justice, enhancing regional legal cooperation, and deepening stakeholder engagement and public trust.
Since assuming office in July 2025, Anderson has undertaken similar visits across the Caribbean.
In October 2025, he held meetings with public officials in Guyana, including the President, the Acting Chancellor of the Judiciary, the Attorney General, the Minister of Legal Affairs, and the CARICOM Secretary-General, as well as representatives of political and civil society organisations.
Last November, the CCJ President visited Suriname, where he met with the Minister of Justice, the President of the Court of Justice, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Anton de Kom University of Suriname.
While in Barbados, he is accompanied by Registrar and Chief Marshal Gabrielle Figaro-Jones.
The delegation will pay courtesy calls on senior Barbadian officials, including Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Chief Justice Leslie Haynes, and Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne. They are scheduled to depart Barbados on January 20.
