NASSAU, Bahamas, CMC – The Digital Transformation Unit (DTU) says the Bahamas government’s MyGateway platform has generated US$3.6 million in revenue even as it processed US$25 million in exemptions.

MYGateway is a centralized, secure portal for registering, requesting, and accessing various online services the government provides. In a statement, DTU said that the platform, launched in 2021, has more than 100,000 registered users mark, has processed 127,000 applications, and assisted with collecting 87,000 documents from the Centralized Collections Centre.

“We applaud our 100,000 registered users and acknowledge that they are integral to the success of MyGateway. Their enthusiasm and feedback over the past two years have enabled us to serve our youngest user group at 18, up to our most senior user, 100.

“We are honored to serve Bahamians residing in over 30 countries and the citizens of over 70 countries legally residing in The Bahamas,” the DTU said, adding that the Road Traffic Department has generated two million dollars in revenue using the site.

The platform allows users to book appointments to inspect and license their cars. They can also pay for that service before their visit, and according to the DTU statement, the Royal Bahamas Police Force has had the most applications processed on the portal, with a total of 67,700.

It said that the Department of Marine Resources, with 10, has the most significant number of services offered on the MyGateway platform. MyGateway will launch a new slate of services with digital outputs very shortly.

“With the continued support of our stakeholders and talented project team, we will expand our user groups to include new user categories.”
