GABORONE, Botswana, CMC – For the second time in as many days, Jamaica’s mixed 4x100m relay team set a world record at the Debswana World Athletics Relays on their way to winning gold in the event here on Sunday.

The quartet of Ackeem Blake, Tina Clayton, Kadrian Goldson, and Tia Clayton blazed across the finish line in 39.62 seconds, besting the world record of 39.99 seconds, which they set on Saturday’s opening day.

Jamaica finished comfortably ahead of Canada, which grabbed silver in 40.23 seconds, while the USA was third in 40.33.

The top six teams automatically secured their spots for the Ultimate Championship – Jamaica, Canada, and the USA, joined by Germany, Spain, and Nigeria – while all the finalists had already qualified for the World Athletics Championships Beijing 27 by advancing safely from the heats.
