New President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) announced
The influential business lobby group elects its new leader to champion private sector growth and economic advocacy

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The former president and chief executive officer of the National Commercial Bank Financial Group, Patrick Hylton, has been appointed president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ).

In a statement, the PSOJ, which was established in 1976 as a national organisation of private sector associations, companies, and individuals working together to promote a competitive and productive private sector, said Hylton succeeds Metry Seaga, who completed a three-year term.

It said Hylton is a transformational leader with deep credibility across the private sector and an unwavering commitment to national development.

“As the PSOJ advances its advocacy agenda, focused on productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable growth, his experience and steady leadership will be invaluable. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Metry Seaga for three years of exemplary service and impact at the helm of the organisation,” said PSOJ executive director, Sacha Vaccianna Riley.

The PSOJ also announced the appointments of three vice-presidents: Joanna Banks of Sagicor Group Jamaica, Mathew Lyn of Caribbean Broilers Group, and Mariame McIntosh Robinson, an individual member.

They will join vice presidents Gail Moss-Solomon of GraceKennedy Limited and Hugh Grant of the Jamaica Public Service.

The PSOJ said that Hylton will work closely with the PSOJ board, secretariat, and members to strengthen private-sector advocacy, deepen public-private collaboration, and champion policies that support enterprise growth, investment, and inclusive economic progress.

In the mid-1990s, Hylton was appointed by the Jamaican government to lead the restructuring of the country’s financial sector – a project that earned him Jamaica’s Order of Distinction (Commander Class) in 2002.

In 2019, he received the Honorary Doctor of Laws from the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI). In October 2020, he was also conferred with the Order of Jamaica for distinguished contributions to the financial sector and his philanthropic efforts.
