
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Guyana’s archery team produced a historic performance at the recently concluded 2025 Caribbean Development Championships, which were held in Trinidad and Tobago.
Guyana ended the competition with an impressive medal haul of 44, including 22 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze, from individual, doubles, and mixed team events.
The championships featured 262 archers from 11 countries and took place at Marvin Lee Stadium. President of Archery Guyana, Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, said he was extremely proud of the team’s performance.
“This is a monumental moment for Archery Guyana and our nation. To see so many Guyanese archers standing on the podium, including our youth, truly reflects the success of our developmental pathway,” he said.
Guyana secured 10 gold medals courtesy of Ravish Singh (compound beginner – U-15 men), Samiyyah La Cruez (barebow beginner – U-15 women), Nolan Gray (barebow beginner – senior men), Suzanne Affonso (barebow beginner – senior women), Jeewanram Persaud (recurve amateur – senior men), and Julie-Ann Williams (recurve amateur – senior women).
Guyana is set to host the Caribbean Development Championships in 2026.
