KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The operators of Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) announced on Monday that the facility will be closed for nine hours from Tuesday night to facilitate scheduled electrical infrastructure works.
PAC Kingston Airport Limited said that the closure will be from 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday to 4:00 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday, when normal airport operations will resume.
The airport operator noted that critical safety and security systems will remain operational during the period, adding that no flights are scheduled during the upgrade window; therefore, passenger travel will not be impacted.
“However, travellers are advised to verify flight schedules with their respective airlines for any changes to flights outside this upgrade window,” the statement said.
PAC Kingston stated that the scheduled upgrade is part of its ongoing commitment to building a premier gateway, while continuing to ensure safe and reliable airport operations.
