ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC—Rohan Hector, the General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA), has made it clear he is not facing any firearm charges following reports that a man bearing a similar name appeared in court here on Wednesday.
In a statement issued on Friday, he said that while Rohan Hector was charged with the offenses, it was not him. Hector has served as general secretary of the ABFA since 2018.
“I wish to address and clarify recent public confusion surrounding news reports related to an individual named “Rohan Hector,” who appeared before the court on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, concerning firearm charges.
“Let me state unequivocally: I am not the individual involved in this matter. My name is Rohan Patrice Hector, and I currently serve as General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA),” the statement read.
“While the similarity in name has understandably caused concern, I want to assure the public, our football community, and all stakeholders that I have no connection to the incident or the individual in question.
“I am deeply grateful for the many messages, calls, and expressions of concern I’ve received. Your support reinforces the values I stand by. I remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in my personal life and role with the ABFA. As the saying goes, “There is more than one dog named Bob.” Name similarity has confused me, but the facts and characters speak for themselves.
“Thank you for your understanding, and I encourage continued support for the ongoing positive development of football in Antigua and Barbuda,” the statement added.
