BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, CMC – Aaron Jarvis of the Cayman Islands, a former Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) champion, will spearhead a contingent of Caribbean nations competing in the 2025 edition of the prestigious tournament. The event will occur from January 16-19, 2025, at Pilar Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Jarvis, who claimed the championship title in 2022, will be making his fifth appearance in the LAAC. He aims to add another chapter to his distinguished amateur career.

The other Caribbean nations represented are the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, Trinidad, and Tobago.

The LAAC, established in 2014 by the Masters Tournament, The R&A, and the USGA, aims to promote amateur golf across South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the championship is hosted annually at premier courses across Latin America and spotlights the region’s rising golf talent.

Past participants include 2018 champion Joaquin Niemann of Chile, among the most notable alums of the event, who played on the PGA tour.

This year’s winner will secure an invitation to the 2025 Masters Tournament and exemptions into The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush and the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont.

The 108-player field features competitors from 29 IOC-recognized countries and territories, including 15 players in the top 200 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Standout names include Mexico’s Omar Morales (No. 13), the Cayman Islands’ Justin Hastings (No. 43), Bolivia’s Jose Luis Montaño (No. 48), and Brazil’s Andrey Xavier (No. 53) and Herik Machado (No. 54).
