SAN ANTONIO, Texas, CMC – Jamaica international Kameron Lacey has been signed by United Soccer League Championship outfit San Antonio FC for next season.

The 23-year-old will join SAFC pending USL and United States Soccer Federation approval after a season with Minnesota United FC 2 in MLS Next Pro, appearing in 20 matches and leading the team with ten goals and 30 shots on target.

“We are excited to welcome Kameron to the team,” SAFC head coach Alen Marcina said. “His energy, commitment to teammates, and relentless work ethic on both ends of the ball, including quality in front of the goal, are vital attributes he possesses.

“With a growth mindset and unwavering commitment to professional progress, Kameron is set to contribute to the team’s success. We eagerly anticipate tapping into his potential and aiding in his progression.”

Before beginning his professional career, Lacey stood out at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, compiling 58 appearances, 17 goals, and 14 assists.

He recorded career highs in goals and assists during his senior campaign with the 49ers, earning first-team All-American Conference and second-team All-East region honors two years ago.

Lacey has represented Jamaica at the Under-17, Under-20, and total international levels.

Originally from Miami, he grew up playing in the Orlando City and FC Dallas academies, helping Orlando win an Under-17 Conference Championship and Dallas win an Under-19 Conference Championship.

San Antonio FC is preparing for a training camp before kicking off the 2024 USL Championship season when they host Loudoun United FC on Saturday, March 9.
