LONDON, CMC – Teenager Shaq Forde scored for the second time in as many games to notch his fifth goal of the League One campaign, but Leyton Orient failed to recover from conceding three goals in ten minutes at the start and slid to a 3-2 defeat away to Bolton Wanderers.

The 19-year-old, the son of former Barbados international Fabian Forde, initiated the visitors’ comeback with a 55th-minute strike before providing the assist five minutes later for Theo Archibald’s spectacular finish.

However, the equalizer proved elusive as Orient slid to their third defeat in four games to be 16th on 25 points at Christmas.

Bolton are third on 42, seven points of leaders Portsmouth.

“The first ten minutes were awful, but then we recovered well, and for the last 25 minutes of the first half, we were the better team,” said Orient manager Richie Wellens.

Playing away in the country’s north-west on Saturday, Orient were stunned when Josh Dacres-Cogley, Dion Charles, and George Thomason pumped in goals quickly.

Dacres-Cogley slipped in behind a nervy Orient defense and finished clinically after three minutes before Northern Ireland international Dion Charles beat goalkeeper Sol Brynn with a calm finish.

When Thomason tucked away a rebound after being initially denied by Brynn in the tenth minute, Orient were on the ropes but managed to regain their composure to end the half with the scoreline intact.

Forde was denied following the break but made amends soon after when he finished Archibald’s cross, and he quickly returned the favor to Archibald, the 25-year-old rifling home from the edge of the box.
