LONDON, CMC – St Lucia international Dominic Poleon scored his 10th goal of the season as Ebbsfleet United ended an eight-game winless National League run by thrashing Oldham Athletic 4-1 on Saturday.

The 30-year-old was on target in the 80th minute at Boundary Park away in the northwest, as the visitors netted three times in 13 minutes at the end to crush the hosts’ resistance.

Greg Cundle had given Ebbsfleet the lead in the 10th minute, James Norwood equalizing through a 71st-minute penalty to set up a thrilling finish.

Poleon then put Ebbsfleet ahead after being set up by Luke O’Neill and Nathan Odokonyero (85th), and Dominic Samuel (93rd) scored quickly to ensure the points.

Also in the National League, Antigua and Barbuda internationals Rhys Browne and Ashley Nathaniel-George found the back of the nets. Still, more effort was needed to get their respective sides over the line.

At Meadow Park in the east, Browne scored his first of the season to double Woking’s lead in the 16th minute after Reece Grego-Cox’s 10th-minute penalty had given the visitors a bright start.

However, Angelo Balanta pulled one back for the hosts in the 25th minute before Tyrone Marsh lashed in a double in the 49th and 71st to send them 3-2 up.

Tom Whelan scored with time ticking away at the end to complete the turnaround win.

At York Road in the southeast, Nathaniel-George netted his third of the campaign to give Maidenhead United a 1-0 lead in the 72nd minute, but 10-man York City hit back to earn a 1-1 draw courtesy of Callum Howe’s 87th-minute strike.

In the National League South, Jordan Greenidge – the brother of Guyana international Reiss Greenidge – scored in the 55th minute to help hosts Tonbridge Angels hammer 10-man Havant & Waterlooville 4-1 at Longmead Stadium, also in the southeast.

19-year-old Shaq Forde, whose father Fabian Forde represented Barbados internationally, produced a brilliant 18th-minute strike in League One. Still, Leyton Orient was held to a 1-1 draw by Wigan Athletic, who responded through Stephen Humphrys in first-half stoppage.
