GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – A virtual regional youth conference on competition, consumer protection law, and policy gets under on November 21.
It is being organized by the Suriname-based Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Competition Commission (CCC) and the Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
The two regional institutions are observing their 15th and 50th anniversary, respectively, and they said that the virtual conference would be held under the theme “The Importance of Competition and Consumer Laws and Policies to the CSME Regional Integration Movement.”
The CSME, the CARICOM Single Market and Economy, allows for the free movement of goods, skills, labor, and services across the region, and the organizers said that the virtual conference will target students completing the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination® (CAPE) subjects with CARICOM and economics components.
