
KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Polices in St. Anns have mounded a search for a 27-year-old who escaped custody in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The man, whose name has not been publicly released, was warded at the St. Anns Bay hospital under police custody since September 24th after allegedly raping and murdering his neighbor, 8-year-old Talia Thompson, and then reportedly shot himself and inflicting several stab wounds to his body in an attempted suicide.
Details about the accused man’s escape have not been forthcoming, but police say the 27-year-old managed to escape custody around 12:15 a.m. but have put measures in place to have him back in control in the shortest possible time.
