LONDON, CMC – King Charles III welcomed the High Commissioner of Jamaica to Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
The 75-year-old monarch, undergoing cancer treatment, met Alexander Williams, who was joined by his wife Carol Watson-Williams.
The meeting was held even as Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, planned to remove Charles as Head of State.
In February, the Jamaican government announced that it had started the first step in the legislative constitutional reform process by preparing the Constitution of Jamaica (Amendment of Section 61) Bill.
Meanwhile, the King has postponed all public-facing engagements while he continues his treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, but he has been carrying out audience and desk duties behind Palace walls.
