PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Police Monday confirmed that the 17-year-old son of a police officer died, allegedly by suicide, at his home in Tabaquite, a town in central Trinidad.

The police said that the Form Five student of Tabaquite Secondary School was due to sit the Barbados-based Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination that started here on Monday.

But relatives told police the boy had been stressed and worried about the examination.

Two female relatives found his body, and police said a gun with live rounds of ammunition was also discovered at the scene.

A post-mortem will be conducted on the body later this week.
