PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – The newly appointed President of the twin island republic, Christine Kangaroo, has been conferred with the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT).
On Thursday, the President was awarded the country’s highest national award at a simple ceremony at President’s House.
Chief Justice Ivor Archie presented the ORTT.
Archie explained that the President receives the national award by convention and by being the Chancellor of the Distinguished Society of Trinidad and Tobago, the Order to which all National Award recipients belong.
President Kangaloo’s husband, His Excellency Kerwyn Garcia, and Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley witnessed the presentation.
