T THE PHOENIXX- A MULTIFACETED JAMAICAN-AMERICAN MEDIA VOICE.
Tameika “T the Phoenixx” Hinckson is a Brooklyn-born Jamaican-American radio host, creative executive, and founder whose media vision unites a lifetime of gifts. She began as a Pampers baby and competed in pageants, earning Miss Congeniality and placing third runner-up as a preteen. She danced for the New Jersey Nets, performed at the Apollo, Carnegie Hall, and Hammerstein Ballroom, and did background work on Law & Order, Third Watch, and Nickelodeon productions. She is SAG-AFTRA eligible.
Classically trained at Harlem School of the Arts, Hinckson graduated from Professional Performing Arts School before returning to HSA as registrar coordinator and executive/private-class coordinator. She holds a B.S. in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University.
Her experience spans marketing at VP Records, A&R at EMI Music Publishing, and executive support at ASCAP. Since joining Jammins Events in 2005, she has expanded from guerrilla marketing, bartending, and box-office operations into artist logistics, production, sponsorship, strategic partnerships, and cultural programming.
Without the luxury of one lane, different seasons demanded different strengths. Her career centered on guiding artists and executives toward their dreams. As a feminine woman in entertainment, she learned softness and authority must coexist. Supporting others gave her purpose, but not at the cost of leaving her gifts waiting in the wings.
Today, T the Phoenixx co-hosts The Morning Grind with Ian “The Goose” Eligon on ROADBLOCK Radio and 108 Soul. Through Tea & Tonic and Phoenixx Frequency, she connects Caribbean and diaspora culture, current events, wellness, and intentional living. Her cultural fluency, executive discipline, and on-air warmth make her a natural partner for brands and a compelling host and speaker.
Through Phoenixx Frequency Media LLC, she develops original programming, branded content, cultural experiences and educational initiatives. Having passed the Praxis Music: Content and Instruction examination, she is building pathways that help creatives and young people understand broadcasting, production, and the entertainment business while developing their voices, confidence, and ownership.
This chapter is not about becoming someone new. It is about bringing her full range forward and using it to inform, connect and empower others.
