PARAMARIBO, Suriname, CMC – President Chandrikapersad Santokhi is due to return home this weekend after doctors in the Netherlands said there is no reason for concern about his health, the Suriname Communications Service (SCS) has reported.
It said that the doctors in the Netherlands have concluded that “he is healthy and fit” and that the head of state in the Dutch-speaking Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country had traveled to the European country on the advice of his medical team here.
SCS said that Santokhi’s doctors needed specialized tests unavailable in Suriname.
The president is pleased with the outcome and thanks his team members for their excellent care. He is preparing to return to Suriname next weekend, the SCS added.
