NY: Spirit Airlines, the leading ultra-low-cost carrier in the United States to Jamaica/the Caribbean and Latin America, will on,

on December 15, 2022, commence a new route from Bradley International Airport in Connecticut to Montego Bay, fulfilling longstanding efforts to establish nonstop service between Connecticut and the region and tap into customers’ demand surge for the upcoming Christmas holiday season.
“We are delighted to have Spirit Airlines’ new service from Bradley International Airport in Hartford to Montego Bay,” Donnie Dawson, Deputy Director of Tourism – The Americas, Jamaica Tourist Board, told Caribbean Times newspaper.

The new route, which will operate year-round, four times per week from Bradley Airport to Jamaica, will serve the state’s sizeable Jamaican-American community and bolster tourism and trade.

According to U.S. Census data, there are more than 56,000 residents with Jamaican ancestry in Connecticut, and the state ranks No. 5 in that category among U.S. states.

“This new service will enhance Jamaica’s position in the Tri-State market and capture more visitors from Connecticut and north into New England,”

Dawson shared.

The Montego Bay service will complement Spirits’ existing routes between Bradley and the Florida cities of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, as well as Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Caribbean Times newspaper will be aboard the inaugural flight to Montego Bay to get pictures and highlights of the historic flight.
