Rudolph Shaw, one of Jamaica’s most wanted men who fled to the Cayman Islands and led armed police on a dramatic chase before being apprehended, is scheduled to return to court in Jamaica on September 7. He was wanted in connection with multiple murders and several shootings in the parish of St. Catherine.

Shaw, otherwise called ‘Boxer’ or ‘Boxa,’ who is considered St. Catherine’s most wanted man by both police divisions in the parish, has been charged with the murder of 59-year-old Wilfred O’Connor, a carpenter of St. John’s Road in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The carpenter was among five persons who were shot by armed men on September 29, 2021.

Shaw was remanded after he appeared in the St. Catherine Parish Court on Friday.

The matter was then transferred to the Corporate Area Gun Court, where it is to be heard on September 7.

Shaw has also been slapped with an additional murder charge relative to the death of 60-year-old Clinton Davis, who is also from St. John’s Road in Spanish Town.

Shaw has been held in custody since he arrived in Jamaica on July 27.

He surfaced in the Cayman Islands in July. A manhunt for him was launched after coordination between law enforcement agencies in Jamaica and Cayman.

On July 8, personnel from the Cayman Islands’ Firearms Response Unit approached a vehicle with two occupants, one of whom was Shaw.

The two men attempted to elude the cops by ramming into the police vehicle, rendering their vehicle immobile. Shaw was apprehended by police, but the other man fled on foot.

Shaw was escorted to Jamaica by CBC and Royal Cayman Islands Police Service personnel on July 27, 2022.
