PORT-AU-PRINCE, HaïtiPort-au-Prince, CMC – Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé is in the United States for a five-day visit, the Office of the Prime Minister has announced.
It said that Fils-Aimé, who is heading a small delegation that includes Foreign Minister Raina Forbin and Special Advisor Guerly Leriche. will be in the North American country until April 24.
“This high-level official mission is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic dialogue between the Republic of Haiti and its international partners, to mobilize increased support for stability, security, and the revitalization of national development.”
The statement said that during his stay in Washington, Fils-Aimé will hold a series of high-level meetings with representatives of international financial institutions, regional organizations, and U.S. officials.
He will also travel to New York, where he will continue his diplomatic consultations, particularly with the United Nations, on key issues concerning Haiti.
Through this initiative, the Government reaffirms its commitment to defending the nation’s best interests, strengthening strategic partnerships, and promoting effective international cooperation in the service of the Haitian people, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
