GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Acting Commissioner of Police Clinton Hicken on Thursday announced that the Guyana Police Force(GPF) will be establishing a new air wing to enhance its capacity and capability.
Hicken announced as he outlined some of the Force’s plans while addressing its 184th-anniversary awards ceremony.
According to Hicken, two ranks of the Force are being trained as pilots in Miami, while another two ranks are at the stage of completing their studies in the field of engineering.
In the coming months, Hicken said the efficiency of the Police Force is expected to be enhanced with the continuous improvement of its infrastructure and resources.
Additionally, he noted that as the Force continues to explore ways to serve the public better, they are on the verge of establishing an E-library, a risk management unit, and a Police force committee. There are also plans to restructure the auditing and inspection unit.
