MISSOURI, USA, CMC – Ohio Dominican University’s Yadhu Urs has etched his name in the record books, becoming just the third Panther golfer ever, and likely the first from Saint Lucia, to qualify for the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship.

The standout sophomore secured his spot with a clutch performance at the NCAA DII Midwest/Central Regional Qualifiers in St. Joseph, Missouri. He finished fourth overall before winning a thrilling playoff for the final national championship berth.

Urs delivered a composed three-round performance at the St. Joseph Country Club, posting a 2-under 211 following scores of 72-69-70 on the 6,524-yard, par-71 layout.

After an opening-round 72, he surged into contention with a second-round 69, tying for the third-best score of the day, before closing with a steady 70.

His consistency stood out as one of only 10 players in the field to finish under par in multiple rounds. Urs tied for the team lead with nine birdies and paced the Panthers with 39 pars.

But the drama wasn’t over. Needing one more birdie to avoid a playoff, Urs narrowly missed a putt on the 54th hole, forcing a sudden-death showdown with Findlay’s Luke Metzger for the last national championship spot.

After two tense holes, Urs spectacularly sealed the victory, sinking an eagle putt on the third playoff hole to punch his ticket to Florida.

The 2025 NCAA DII Championship will be held May 19–23 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, home of the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic. Urs will aim to cap his historic season with another milestone, becoming Ohio Dominican’s first golf national champion.
