LONDON, CMC – Former St Kitts and Nevis youth international Tyrese Shade, a winger for English League Two club Swindon Town, has been called up to the country’s senior team for upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches.

The Birmingham-born 22-year-old, who joined Swindon last summer, has been selected by coach Austin Huggins for the Sugar Boyz’s games away to St Martin on Thursday and home to Aruba following Monday.

If he features, the shade will be rewarded with his first international cap for his country after making five youth-level appearances.

In a statement, Swindon Town wished Shade “the best of luck over the coming week.”

Shade’s call-up means Swindon’s head coach Jody Morris will be without the wide man for Town’s League Two home game against Stockport County at the weekend, and he could miss the away trip to Hartlepool United on April 1 as well.

Shade’s only international recognition came during the 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Championships in the United States.

The former Leicester City academy graduate scored four times in 31 outings for 11th-placed Swindon this season, which earned him an international call-up.

The Sugar Boyz currently sit second in League C, Group B after two games, having beaten Aruba 3-2 away and drawn 1-1 against St Martin in Basseterre last June.
