LONDON, CMC – Jamaica striker Jevani Brown and St Kitts & Nevis winger Tyrese Shade were on target for their respective clubs in the English leagues, but their sides had contrasting results.
Brown scored his first goal for Bristol Rovers, and the Gas secured a comfortable League 1 win against 10-man Port Vale, while Shade scored a consolation goal when Swindon Town endured a 3-1 loss to fellow promotion-chasers Notts County in League 2.
AT THE MEMORIAL STADIUM: Brown ended the match strongly and helped put Rovers in charge after 25 minutes when he crossed for the unmarked midfielder Luke McCormick to nod past Connor Ripley.
Port Vale endured a setback when defender Jesse Debrah was sent off after 38 minutes after earning a second yellow card for bringing down Ryan Woods.
Defender Jack Hunt doubled the Robers lead two minutes into first-half stoppage-time when he drove in a pinpoint cross from Aaron Collins.
Port Vale manager Andy Crosby made four changes at the break, but Rovers continued to dominate, and Brown scored a long-range effort after 86 minutes to seal the win.
AT MEADOW LANE: Shade, a second-half substitute, scored four minutes into the second half when he towered over Aaron Nemane to power home a cross from Remeao Hutton.
It was the only bright spark for Swindon after David McGoldrick, Macaulay Langstaff, and Dan Crowley completed a dominant first-half display for the Magpies.
