Eagle Scout Project Brings Cutting-Edge Technology to South Bronx Community Center South Bronx, NY: Pierce Brookins, a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout from Troop 777 Manhattan, is making a meaningful impact in the South Bronx community through his Eagle Scout project. He has partnered with Mercy Center, a community center at 377 E 145th Street that aims to improve individual job opportunities regardless of income. Pierce’s efforts will enhance an existing communal space to provide the necessary resources to help turn their ideas into reality. The reimagined space will feature a new 3D printer, vinyl cutter, computer, decorations, and more. Mr. Brookins also plans to visit the center and provide a morning of training on how to use the equipment to community members and staff. Overall, this will empower Mercy Center to serve better its mission of enhancing job opportunities by assisting members to prototype their ideas and bring them to life. Mercy Center expresses appreciation for Pierce’s dedication and contributions to the community through his Eagle Scout project. The new communal space and training will impact the community, empowering individuals to pursue their dreams. The community is encouraged by the support of BSA Scout Brookins in his efforts to help improve the lives of his neighbors in the South Bronx.
