Council Member Ampry-Samuel stated, “Out of respect for the 400,000 plus residents that call NYCHA home, we will be holding an emergency Town Hall Meeting. This Town Hall is a direct response to the neglect and anguish the New York City Housing Authority has caused residents. As a result of Monday’s Consent Decree and the revelations related to cover-ups and deceit, we need to have a real conversation with NYCHA. This is an opportunity to meet with leaders and residents about their complaints and agreements, along with defining what it means for NYCHA to have a federal monitor.
