BROOKLYN, NY – Montserrat international Adrian Clifton, who has scored four goals in 12 appearances for the island, has joined English National League side Boreham Wood.

The 32-year-old UK-born former Dagenham & Redbridge forward, who has also had spells at Bromley, Havant, Waterlooville, and Maidenhead United, made six substitute appearances for the Daggers last season.

His new deal was ironed out for him to come on after 72 minutes as a substitute on Saturday in a hard-fought 0-0 home draw against fifth-tier opponents Stockport County which saw Boreham Wood drop points for the first time this season.

Stockport’s Jordan Keane went close to breaking the deadlock late on when he hit the post in the 81st minute.

Home goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore, who had earlier saved well to deny Alex Reid, then pulled off another good stop to prevent a Will Evans own goal.

Boreham Wood remained third in the table, leveling 10 points from four games with leaders Dagenham & Redbridge and second-placed Chesterfield, while Stockport dropped to 14th.

Clifton made his international debut in March 2015, featuring in a 2-2 draw against Curacao in a World Cup qualifier.
