BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC—Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley wants Barbados to resume airlift with Germany, Western Europe, and Scandinavia and is optimistic that the Honorary Consul to Germany, Regina Sixt, can use her business connections to achieve this.
Mottley and Sixt recently held talks at Ilaro Court, where they explored a co-marketing arrangement with Sixt Car Rentals to promote Barbados as a destination of choice in the German market.
The Prime Minister and the Honorary Consul also explored ways to go after corporate business in Germany. On this matter, the Honorary Consul invited Barbados to attend a convention in Copenhagen, where significant players in the car rental and tour operator businesses will be present.
In addition, the two officials discussed presenting string instruments to complement the government’s String Project in primary schools and building a new convention center in Bay Street, among other topics.
