ATHLETICS-Joseph among nominees for Senior Sportsman of the Year

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been nominated for the Senior Sportsman of the Year Award 2024 by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries.

The 28-year-old Joseph, along with track star Cejhae Greene and sailing phenom Rocco Falcone, is among 12 athletes who will vie for the honor at the award ceremony on March 15.

The other nominees are Daren Benta (softball cricket), Noah St. Clair (rifle), Dante Browne (fencing), Marlon George (golf), Tony Phillip (bodybuilding), Raheem Deterville (football), Yashid Auguiste (volleyball), Xavier Meade (basketball) and Jadon Wuilliez (swimming).

Meanwhile, in the Senior Sportswoman category, bodybuilder Kimberley Percival is the overwhelming favorite to win the award from a field of 11 nominees that include Joella Lloyd (athletics), Bianca Mitchell (swimming), Jewel Crump (fencing), Junella King (sailing), Josanne Lewis (volleyball), Reyana Regis (netball), Amanda Edwards (cricket), Alexandria Hunte (golf), Makada Samuel-Hector (softball cricket), and Iressica Allen (football).
