BRUSSELS-St. Vincent PM was holding talks with EU officials.

BRUSSELS, CMC – St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, is in Brussels for talks with officials of the European Union.

Gonsalves is attending the talks as President pro-tempore of the Community of Latin America and Caribbean States (CELAC). An EU statement said his visit coincides with the planning of the EU-CELAC Summit, which will be held in Brussels on July 17-18 this year.

It said that this year’s CELAC summit will be the first in seven years.

European Union High Representative and Vice President Josep Borrell said the EU hopes to re-launch bi-regional relations with Latin America and the Caribbean and institutionalize regular political dialogue.
