PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has described as fake news” reports on social media that Acting Senior Superintendent Roger Alexander had been shot and killed on Saturday.
Alexander is one of the most high-profile police officers here, hosting the police crime show on television and at the forefront of police actions on crime.
In a statement, the TTPS said it “is aware of online posts claiming that …. Alexander was shot and killed….These posts are false”.
It said that Alexander is “alive, well and is currently carrying out his duties as he leads his team members.
“The TTPS takes these matters very seriously, and we urge the public to get their information from reliable sources and verify all information they receive before circulating messages via social media. “
