Dear Editor,
Please allow me some space in your newspaper to write about what protest accomplishes.
Look back to the civil rights movement. Three million people peacefully protested on January 21st., why should that upset anyone… we were protesting reproductive rights, gender pay inequality, racism, homophobia, affordable healthcare and misogyny.
The people have every right to let this new administration know that we are going to call them out and hold them accountable whenever we can. To assume that the three million people who marched on the 21st. were all unemployed or receiving some kind of government benefits is asinine, and very indicative of how a person like Donald Trump can weasel his way into the White House.
