KINGSTON, Jamaica– Police are searching for the shooters who shot and killed one of their colleagues on Saturday night during a wake in St. Andrew, southeast of here.
Police said Constable Brian Martin, 22, was among five people shot when shooters opened fire at the wake.
The victims were rushed to hospital where the policeman, who was shot in the face, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The other people have been hospitalized.
Jamaica has recorded 1 226 murders so far this year as compared to 1,139 for the same period last year.
