GEORGETOWN, Guyana– The police have arrested two persons in connection with the theft of GUY$5.4 billion (One Guyana dollar=US$0.004 cents) in synthetic hair braids and weaves that were stolen from a businessman in East Coast Demerara to the east of here.
The police report that the theft occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Based on information received, the police found nearby premises where a quantity of the suspected stolen items was recovered.
Another search was then conducted in the area, and the remaining items were found in a building located in the backyard of a businesswoman.
The two persons were arrested and are now in custody – one for a break and larceny and the other for receiving stolen articles.
Investigations are ongoing.
