
TORUN, Poland, CMC – Jamaica’s Bryan Levell and Kishane Thompson qualified for the final of the men’s 60 metres at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, while teammate Ackeem Blake narrowly missed out.
Levell secured his spot in Friday’s final after winning the opening Heat in 6.53 seconds, with Belgium’s Simon Verherstraeten second in 6.56 seconds to grab the other automatic qualifying spot.

Thompson then clocked 6.47 seconds to finish second in Heat 2 behind the USA’s Trayvon Bromell, who ran a world-leading 6.42 seconds.
However, Blake failed to advance after finishing fourth in the third and final Heat in 6.55 seconds.
The USA’s Jordan Anthony won that Heat in a personal best time of 6.43 seconds, while Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu (6.45) finished second. Emmanuel Eseme (6.52) of Cameroon is also headed to the final as one of the two fastest third-place finishers.
Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards booked his spot in the final of the men’s 400 metres after finishing third in Heat 2 in 45.87 seconds.
